It’s Rosé season and we are celebrating this storied delight with five tastings of luscious variation. Rosé is produced by introducing just a bit of color from the skin of red grapes. This method dates back to the earliest days of winemaking before extended maceration and deeper pressing of red grapes (used to produce today’s bolder reds) came into favor. The ancients were likely drinking wines that appeared very much like today’s Rosé.

First Course

House of Brown | Rosé | Lodi, California
Jasmine, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, blood orange with hints of baking spice
Pairing: Watermelon Salad
Fresh watermelon, cucumber, red onion, crumbled feta, fresh mint sprigs, toasted walnuts, cracked pepper. Tossed in a red wine olive oil vinaigrette.

Second Course

Cottanera | Etna Rosato | Sicily
Cherry blossom, peaches, rose hips, strawberries and pink grapefruit
Pairing: Peach Crostinis
Toasted baguette, whipped honey ricotta, grilled peaches, crispy pancetta, thyme, balsamic reduction.

Third Course

Bodegas Muga | Rosado | Rioja, Spain
Peaches, apricot, fresh citrus, white blossom and juicy red berries
Pairing: Shrimp and “Grits”
Cheddar cheese creamy polenta, Cajun-rubbed shrimp, candied bacon, tomato relish, fresh scallions.

Fourth Course

Chateau D’Estoublon | Roseblood Rosé | Provence, France
Pomegranate, apricot, black currant, fresh minerality
Pairing: Sesame Crusted Tuna
Seared sesame crusted fresh tuna, niçoise salad (green beans, grape tomatoes, black olives, hard boiled eggs, marble potatoes, spring mix, fresh herb vinaigrette), toasted almond crumble.


Fresh Fruit Tart
Shortbread crust, lemon curd filling, assorted fresh fruit, edible flowers, powdered sugar.
